They will sit deep but at the same time look to press when we have it. They also will test our CBs with Weghorst being good in the air. We have struggled at times with teams that put 10 behind the ball and do what we are good at which is counter attacking. They will put everything into the game unless the sacking has undermined confidence or morale? But then again some players may have found Dyche was getting on their case and will now feel better he has gone? We just don’t know.
Dyche’s influence on the touch line missing may be a miss or alternatively might help some players if he was laying into them? Again it’s hard to know?
The emotional and adrenaline effect as well as physical impact of Thurs games Must be a factor. Let’s hope it’s positive for us this time.
In summary, I suspect a harder game than some think. Don’t think Moyes will rest many either. He never does and with our squad of about 14 trusted players he doesn’t have many options anyway

When has Cresswell ever played centre back in a 4?
It’ll be the same team with maybe Benny and Cresswell coming in.
History shows he doesn’t make wholesale changes

Whatever team we put out, we NEED the three points today. We missed a great opportunity last week, but we have a similar situation this week, and you can see from the table that we can't keep missing these opportunities... despite the EL semi, we really need some European qualification as a back up to that. Top four is probably beyond us now, but I'd like to see us in the EL placement again, so we know we have at least that for next season.

Morning charley and all,
I suppose we're slightly knackered after Thursday's magnificent performance but I think we'll have enough to see off Burnley.

I really don't see the logic of resting players today when the SF isn't until another 10 days and this a very winnable game? It's all very Euro 96. Maybe those suggesting it can also explain why it's a good idea?
Surely next week is the time to rest players, if we go down that road?

Why might it be a good idea?
1. Because we've already played a lot of games recently and there will inevitably be a large degree of knoackeredness in the players,
2. We've got several important games coming up and will want the players to be as rested as they can be for those, plus fit an uninjured.
However, they are all professional footballers and are paid to be fit, so...
Take your pick.

I would play vlasic and benny in this… fornals/Bowen/ Antonio have been run into the ground.
Let some other players play the hard press

Today is also important, is it not?
Resting players after a big game rather than before one is not how it normally works. If you rest your key players today and play them next Sunday it makes no sense. if you rest them today's and next week then you are practically giving up on the league.
A few changes today is good and normal for most clubs anyway, but I'd be be surprised if Rice and Antonio are rested today as we rely heavily on them two and can't replace them.

It's not so much about resting them, I think some of our bigger players only have eyes on the cup now, as evidenced by our league effort

A week before the next game, Moyes will play his strongest team. Unless he is going try something different of course with the European Semi Final coming up!

Yesterdays semi final showed the importance of being able to rest players like Liverpool were in midweek thanks to their extremely lucky Euro draw.
Of course the players can handle playing all the games from a basic fitness level but if you’re playing against a team thoroughly more well rested and less fatigued than you, then it becomes much more difficult to get results you’re also more likely to pick up injuries. They can all run about for 90 minutes no problem but can they compete on the level with the opposition? Man City couldn’t handle Liverpool at all yesterday coming off a hard game where Liverpool had a stroll in the park against far weaker opposition.
It’s very difficult with the teams round us being so inconsistent and 5/6 place is still a real carrot. However, everything has to be about getting the players in optimum shape for the Frankfurt games because frankly it’s probably more realistic than finishing 5/6 in the league.
We have a week off after this so maybe it’s not necessary to rest anyone today but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few yanked early depending on how the game is going. Really can’t afford any Zouma type injuries either. Burnley I am sure will bring it physically and be prepared to put the boot in as usual. A few of the players noticeably took it easy against Brentford. Wouldn’t be surprised if they did today but we have some options on the bench so why not bloody use them for games like this. I appreciate Moyes doesn’t have much of a squad to manage or rotate but surely Vlasic, Noble, Kral, Fredericks have to be considered today.

I’d argue this isn’t just a case of resting it is a case of rotating and giving minutes to players that need it, players we may need in bigger games if we get some injuries.
The whole squad should be ready when needed otherwise they have no place in the squad

We could go 5th with a win, shouldn't be putting all our eggs in one basket, need to field as strong a side as possible, which Moyes usually does anyway.

Good line up Except for Vlasic who is not even good enough to warm the Subs bench.
